Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken

Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels.

Season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

If breasts are very thick, pound to even thickness for uniform cooking.
2. Sear the Chicken

Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add chicken and sear 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.

Cook until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Remove chicken from pan and set aside.
Do not wipe the pan—those browned bits add flavor.
3. Cook the Mushrooms

Reduce heat to medium.

Add butter to the same skillet.

Add sliced mushrooms in a single layer.

Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and moisture has evaporated.
