🌱 Vegan Naan Bread (Soft & Fluffy – No Oven Needed)

Makes: 6 naans | Time: ~40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp instant yeast

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp oil (or melted vegan butter)

  • ¾ cup warm plant milk (almond/soy)

  • 2 tbsp vegan yogurt (optional, extra softness)

Optional Topping

  • Vegan butter

  • Minced garlic

  • Chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast: In a bowl, mix warm plant milk, sugar, and yeast. Rest 5–10 min until foamy.

  2. Make dough: Add flour, salt, oil, and yogurt. Knead 6–8 minutes until soft and smooth.

  3. First rise: Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 30–45 minutes (doubles in size).

  4. Shape: Divide into 6 balls. Roll each into an oval/round naan.

  5. Cook: Heat a dry skillet on medium-high. Cook each naan 1–2 minutes per side until bubbles form and brown spots appear.

  6. Finish: Brush with vegan butter. Add garlic & cilantro if you like.
