WW Lettuce Wrap Burgers
Time
- Prep: 10 minutes
- Cook: 15–20 minutes
- Total: About 30 minutes
Ingredients (serves 4)
For the Patties:
- 500 g (1 lb) lean ground beef, turkey, or chicken (90% lean or higher)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional, for flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
For the Wraps:
- 8 large lettuce leaves (Romaine or butter lettuce work best)
- 4 slices reduced-fat cheese (optional)
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- Pickles (optional)
Sauce (WW-friendly options):
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup (sugar-free if preferred)
Instructions
1. Prepare the patties
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Mix gently to combine.
- Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
2. Cook the patties
- Heat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium heat.
- Cook patties 5–7 minutes per side until fully cooked (internal temperature 74°C / 165°F for poultry, 71°C / 160°F for beef).
- If using cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.
3. Assemble the lettuce wraps
- Lay out large lettuce leaves.
- Place a cooked burger patty on each leaf.
- Top with tomato slices, red onion, pickles, and desired sauce.
- Fold the lettuce around the burger like a wrap.
4. Serve
- Serve immediately while warm.
- Optional: pair with a small side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
Tips
- Use Romaine or butter lettuce leaves—they are sturdier and hold the burger better.
- Pat burgers dry before cooking to prevent sogginess.
- For extra flavor, lightly grill or toast the patties.
- Low-fat cheese or skipping cheese reduces WW SmartPoints.
Approximate WW SmartPoints
- 4–6 points per burger (using lean meat and skipping full-fat cheese and sauce)
