Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup (225g) butter, melted
- 1 cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ cups chocolate chips
Method
- Mix wet ingredients
Whisk melted butter with white and brown sugar until smooth. - Add eggs & vanilla
Mix in the egg, extra yolk, and vanilla. - Combine dry ingredients
In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. - Make the dough
Fold dry ingredients into wet, then add chocolate chips. - Shape thin cookies
Scoop small balls and slightly flatten them—thin = crisp. - Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes, until deep golden brown. - Cool completely
They crisp up more as they cool, so don’t judge too early.
🔥 Tips for EXTRA crispiness
- Use more white sugar than brown (white sugar = crunch)
- Bake a little longer for a darker edge
- Flatten the dough before baking
- Let them cool on a wire rack (not a plate)
