Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1½ cups chocolate chips

Method

  1. Mix wet ingredients
Whisk melted butter with white and brown sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs & vanilla
Mix in the egg, extra yolk, and vanilla.
  3. Combine dry ingredients
In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Make the dough
Fold dry ingredients into wet, then add chocolate chips.
  5. Shape thin cookies
Scoop small balls and slightly flatten them—thin = crisp.
  6. Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes, until deep golden brown.
  7. Cool completely
They crisp up more as they cool, so don’t judge too early.

🔥 Tips for EXTRA crispiness

  • Use more white sugar than brown (white sugar = crunch)
  • Bake a little longer for a darker edge
  • Flatten the dough before baking
  • Let them cool on a wire rack (not a plate)
