Swedish Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 2–3 apples (peeled, sliced thin)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep
    Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F and grease a round pan.
  2. Cream base
    Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs & vanilla
    Mix in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Dry ingredients
    Stir in flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Assemble
    Spread batter into the pan. Arrange apple slices on top (press slightly into batter).
  6. Bake
    Bake for 35–45 minutes until golden and set.

🍽️ Finish & Serve

  • Dust with powdered sugar or
  • Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla sauce

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Sprinkle sugar + cinnamon on top before baking for a crisp crust
  • Add sliced almonds for texture
  • Use tart apples (like Granny Smith) for best balance
  • For extra moisture, fold some apples into the batter too
