Air Fryer Apple Pie

Ingredients
For the Crust
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts or homemade pastry dough
- 1 tsp butter or oil for greasing
For the Apple Filling
- 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp melted butter
Optional Topping
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp coarse sugar
Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, combine:
- Apples
- Brown sugar
- Granulated sugar
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Lemon juice
- Cornstarch
- Melted butter
Mix until apples are fully coated.
2. Prepare the Pie
- Grease an air fryer-safe pie pan.
- Press one pie crust into the pan.
- Add the apple filling evenly.
Top with:
- Second crust
or - Lattice strips
Seal and crimp edges.
Cut small slits on top for steam to escape.
Optional:
- Brush with egg wash
- Sprinkle coarse sugar on top
3. Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat to:
- 160°C / 320°F for 3–5 minutes
4. Air Fry
Place the pie carefully into the air fryer basket.
Cook at:
- 160°C / 320°F for 25–30 minutes
Check after 15 minutes.
If the crust browns too quickly:
- Loosely cover with foil.
The pie is ready when:
- Crust is golden brown
- Apples are tender
- Filling is bubbling slightly
5. Cool & Serve
- Let the pie cool for at least 20–30 minutes before slicing.
- This helps the filling set properly.
