Honey Butter Crispy Chicken
Ingredients
For the chicken:
- 500g chicken (boneless thighs or breast, cut into pieces)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk or buttermilk
- Oil for frying
For the honey butter sauce:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
- Pinch of chili flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Prep the coating
In one bowl, whisk egg and milk.
In another, mix flour, cornstarch, and seasonings. - Coat the chicken
Dip chicken into the wet mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture.
For extra crispiness, repeat once more. - Fry until crispy
Heat oil (medium-high). Fry chicken in batches for 5–7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain on paper towels. - Make the sauce
In a pan, melt butter over low heat. Add garlic and cook briefly.
Stir in honey, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly thick. - Toss & serve
Add crispy chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
