Keto Chili Cheese Dog Bake

Ingredients

Hot Dogs Layer

  • 8–10 all-beef hot dogs (sugar-free, keto-friendly)

  • 1 tbsp butter or avocado oil (for greasing)

Keto Chili

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • ½ small onion, finely diced (optional, keep small for keto)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup sugar-free tomato sauce

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste (no added sugar)

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Cheese Layer

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (for meltiness)

Optional Toppings (Keto)

  • Sliced jalapeños

  • Diced green onions

  • Sugar-free mustard

  • Sour cream


Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)

  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish


2. Make the Keto Chili

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat

  2. Add onion and cook 2–3 minutes until soft

  3. Add garlic, cook 30 seconds

  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned

  5. Drain excess grease

  6. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, and spices

  7. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally

  8. Taste and adjust seasoning


3. Assemble the Bake

  1. Place hot dogs side-by-side in the baking dish

  2. Spoon chili evenly over the hot dogs

  3. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella on top


4. Bake

  • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes

  • Cheese should be fully melted and bubbling

  • Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes for crispy cheese edges


5. Rest & Serve

  • Let sit 5 minutes

  • Garnish with jalapeños or green onions

  • Serve with sour cream or keto mustard
