Ingredients

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)


Cheese Layer

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup shredded provolone (optional for extra melt)

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese


Toppings (Choose Your Favorites)

  • Pepperoni slices

  • Sliced mushrooms

  • Diced bell peppers

  • Black olives

  • Cooked bacon

  • Jalapeños

  • Spinach

Keep toppings moderate to avoid excess moisture.


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet.


Step 2: Cook the Meat Base

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked.

  2. Break it into small crumbles.

  3. Drain excess grease if necessary.

  4. Stir in Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper.

Spread evenly in prepared baking dish to form the “crust.”

  1. Mix marinara with tomato paste, oregano, and red pepper flakes.

  2. Spread evenly over meat layer.


Step 4: Add Cheese

  1. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over sauce.

  2. Add provolone and Parmesan.


Step 5: Add Toppings

Arrange toppings evenly over cheese.


Step 6: Bake

Bake 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

For golden brown top, broil 2–3 minutes at the end.
