Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds beef (ribeye, sirloin, or shaved steak)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Creamy Sauce

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional but recommended)

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Cheese Topping

  • 1½ cups shredded provolone cheese
    (or provolone slices torn into pieces)

  • Optional: ½ cup shredded mozzarella for extra melt


Instructions

1. Prepare the Oven and Dish

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or similar casserole dish.


2. Cook the Beef

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add the beef in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.

  • Season with salt and black pepper.

  • Cook until browned and just cooked through.

  • Remove beef from skillet and set aside.


3. Cook the Vegetables

  • In the same skillet, add remaining oil or butter.

  • Add sliced onions and bell peppers.

  • Cook over medium heat for 6–8 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.

  • Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

  • Remove from heat.


4. Make the Creamy Sauce

  • In a medium bowl, combine:

    • Softened cream cheese

    • Heavy cream

    • Worcestershire sauce

    • Garlic powder

    • Onion powder

  • Whisk or stir until smooth and well blended.


5. Assemble the Casserole

  • Spread the cooked beef evenly in the prepared baking dish.

  • Layer the cooked peppers and onions on top.

  • Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over everything.

  • Gently stir to distribute the sauce.

  • Sprinkle provolone (and mozzarella if using) evenly over the top.


6. Bake

  • Place casserole in the oven uncovered.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until:

    • Cheese is melted and bubbly

    • Edges are lightly golden

  • Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes for a lightly browned top.


7. Rest and Serve

  • Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Serve on its own or with a keto-friendly side.
