Homemade Tortilla Wraps

🛒 Ingredients (makes ~8 small wraps)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable, olive, or melted butter)
  • ¾ cup warm water (add gradually)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the dough

  • Mix flour and salt in a bowl.
  • Add oil and warm water little by little.
  • Stir until a soft dough forms.

2. Knead

  • Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover and rest for 20–30 minutes (important for soft wraps).

3. Divide & roll

  • Split dough into 8 balls.
  • Roll each into a thin circle (like a small pizza).

4. Cook

  • Heat a dry skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook each tortilla 30–60 seconds per side until light golden spots appear.
  • Don’t overcook or they’ll become stiff.

5. Keep soft

  • Stack cooked tortillas and cover with a clean towel to trap steam.

🔥 Tips for perfect wraps

  • Warm water = softer dough
  • Resting the dough prevents tearing
  • Don’t add too much flour when rolling (keeps them flexible)
  • Reheat briefly in a pan or microwave before using if they stiffen

🌯 Easy wrap ideas

  • Grilled chicken + garlic sauce
  • Beef + cheese + salsa
  • Eggs + avocado breakfast wrap
  • Veggies + hummus for a lighter option
