Vegan Cabbage Patties

🌱 Ingredients (makes ~10 patties)

  • 3 cups green or napa cabbage, finely shredded

  • 1 small carrot, grated

  • 1 small onion or 2 scallions, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup chickpea flour (or all-purpose flour)

  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs or oats

  • 1 tsp soy sauce or tamari

  • ½ tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • 2–3 tbsp water (as needed)

  • Oil for pan-frying


🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep the cabbage
    Lightly salt the shredded cabbage and let sit 10 minutes. Squeeze out excess moisture.

  2. Mix
    In a bowl, combine cabbage, carrot, onion, garlic, flour, breadcrumbs, spices, and soy sauce.
    Add water gradually until the mixture holds together.

  3. Shape patties
    Form small, flat patties with your hands.

  4. Cook
    Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crisp.

  5. Serve
    Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
