Vegan Orange Tofu
🧾 Ingredients (3–4 servings)
🍽️ Crispy Tofu

400 g extra-firm tofu, pressed & cubed

2 tbsp cornstarch
-
1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari

1 tbsp oil (for pan-fry or baking)
🍊 Orange Sauce

½ cup fresh orange juice
-
1 tbsp orange zest
-
2 tbsp soy sauce
-
2 tbsp maple syrup or sugar
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
-
1 tsp grated ginger
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water
Optional: chili flakes, sesame oil
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Crispy Tofu

Toss tofu with soy sauce and cornstarch.

Pan-fry: cook in oil until golden on all sides
OR -
Bake: 200°C / 400°F for 25–30 min, flipping once
OR -
Air-fry: 190°C / 375°F for 15–18 min
2️⃣ Orange Sauce

Whisk all sauce ingredients (except cornstarch slurry) in a pan.

Simmer 3–4 minutes.

Stir in cornstarch slurry; cook until thick and glossy.
3️⃣ Combine

Add crispy tofu to sauce.

Toss gently to coat evenly.

Taste and adjust sweet/tangy balance.
