Honey Mustard Chicken with Roasted Asparagus & Cheese

🛒 Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard (optional for texture)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)

For the Asparagus

  • 1 bunch asparagus (trimmed)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or parmesan)

🔪 Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

Set your oven to 200°C (400°F).


2. Make Honey Mustard Sauce

In a bowl, mix:

  • Honey
  • Dijon mustard
  • Whole grain mustard
  • Garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Paprika

3. Prepare Chicken

  • Place chicken in a baking dish
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Pour the honey mustard sauce over it, coating well

4. Prepare Asparagus

  • Spread asparagus on a baking tray
  • Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper
  • Toss to coat evenly

5. Bake

  • Put chicken and asparagus in the oven
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes

6. Add Cheese

  • Remove asparagus, sprinkle cheese over it
  • Return to oven for 5 more minutes until melted and slightly golden

7. Serve

Plate the juicy honey mustard chicken alongside cheesy roasted asparagus. Spoon extra sauce from the pan over the chicken.

  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered pasta
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick
  • Squeeze a bit of lemon over asparagus for freshness
