Gourmet Seafood Cassolette

Ingredients

  • 200g shrimp (peeled & deveined)
  • 200g white fish (like cod), cut into chunks
  • 150g scallops
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon juice (a squeeze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Set to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Sauté aromatics
    Melt butter in a pan. Cook shallots, garlic, and mushrooms until soft and fragrant.
  3. Deglaze & build sauce
    Pour in white wine and let it reduce by half.
    Add cream, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. Add seafood
    Gently stir in shrimp, fish, and scallops. Cook for 2–3 minutes (just starting to turn opaque).
  5. Assemble
    Transfer mixture into small oven-safe dishes (cassolettes/ramekins).
  6. Top & bake
    Sprinkle with Gruyère cheese.
    Bake for 10–15 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  7. Finish
    Add a squeeze of lemon juice and garnish with parsley.
