Blueberry Cream Cheese Spread

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/3 cup blueberry jam or blueberry compote
  • 2–3 tbsp powdered sugar (optional, to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional (for homemade blueberry swirl):

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Make blueberry swirl (optional)
    In a small pan, cook blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until thick and jammy. Cool completely.
  2. Mix cream cheese base
    Beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Mix until creamy.
  3. Swirl together
    Fold in blueberry jam/compote gently—don’t fully mix if you want a marbled look.
  4. Chill (optional)
    Refrigerate for 15–30 minutes for a firmer spread.

🍽️ How to use it

  • Spread on bagels or toast
  • Fill croissants, danishes, or muffins
  • Dollop over pancakes or waffles
  • Use as cheesecake-style dip for fruit

🔥 Tips

  • Room-temp cream cheese = smoother texture
  • For extra richness, add a spoon of heavy cream
  • For tangier flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice
