🌱 Vegan Chickpea Balls

Crispy outside, tender inside—perfect as snacks, in wraps, or with pasta

Serves: 4
Time: ~30 minutes


🧺 Ingredients

  • 1½ cups cooked chickpeas (drained & rinsed)

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (or oats, pulsed)

  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional, cheesy flavor)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp parsley or coriander, chopped

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1–2 tbsp lemon juice


🥣 Instructions

  1. Mash or pulse chickpeas until mostly smooth (some texture is good).

  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix until a firm, scoopable mixture forms.

  3. Shape into small balls.

  4. Cook your way:

    • Pan-fry: Shallow-fry in oil, turning until golden on all sides.

    • Bake: 200°C / 400°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.

    • Air-fry: 190°C / 375°F for 12–15 minutes.


✨ Tips & Variations

  • Italian-style: Add oregano & basil; serve with marinara.

  • Middle Eastern: Add coriander powder & serve with tahini sauce.

  • Spicy: Add chili flakes or green chili.

  • Gluten-free: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs or chickpea flour.
