Instructions
Step 1: Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to:
- 375°F (190°C)
Grease a pie dish or baking dish lightly with butter or oil.
Step 2: Cook the Vegetables
- Heat butter or olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook:
- 3–4 minutes
Until softened.
- Add garlic and cook:
- 30 seconds
- Add spinach and cook until wilted:
- about 2 minutes
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Step 3: Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a large bowl whisk together:
- eggs
- cottage cheese
- mozzarella
- parmesan
Add:
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- Italian seasoning
- nutmeg
Mix until combined.
Step 4: Combine
Fold the spinach mixture into the egg mixture.
If using extra add-ins like bacon or mushrooms, stir them in now.
Step 5: Bake
- Pour mixture into prepared dish.
- Smooth the top.
Bake:
- 35–45 minutes
Until:
- center is set
- top is golden
- knife inserted comes out mostly clean
Step 6: Rest
Let quiche rest:
- 10–15 minutes
Before slicing.
This helps it firm up and improves texture.
