Keto Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole (Low-Carb & High-Protein)

Ingredients

For the Chicken Layer

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder


For the Ham & Cheese Layer

  • 6–8 slices thin deli ham, chopped

  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded (or Gruyère for extra flavor)

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated


For the Creamy Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • ¼ tsp paprika

  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt & pepper to taste


For the Topping

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese

  • Optional: 2 tbsp almond flour for extra crunch


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Grease a 9×9-inch (or similar) baking dish with butter or cooking spray.


Step 2: Prepare the Chicken

  • If chicken is raw, cook it thoroughly (boiled, baked, or sautéed) and then shred or dice.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.


Step 3: Make the Creamy Sauce

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream and cream cheese.

  2. Whisk until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add Dijon mustard, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. Cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.


Step 4: Assemble the Casserole

  1. Spread the chicken evenly at the bottom of the baking dish.

  2. Layer chopped ham evenly over the chicken.

  3. Pour the creamy sauce over the chicken and ham.

  4. Sprinkle Swiss cheese and Parmesan on top.


Step 5: Add Topping

  • Combine mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and almond flour (if using) and sprinkle evenly on top for a golden, slightly crunchy finish.


Step 6: Bake

  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the top is golden brown.


Step 7: Serve

  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley for color and freshness.
