Vegan Orange Cauliflower (Crispy & Saucy)

Serves: 3–4 | Time: ~40 minutes


Crispy Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup water or plant milk

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Oil spray or 2 tbsp oil

Method

  1. Heat oven to 220°C / 425°F (or air fryer 190°C).

  2. Whisk flour, water, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into a thick batter.

  3. Dip florets to coat, shake off excess.

  4. Bake on lined tray 20–25 min, flipping once, until crisp
    (Air fryer: 12–15 min).


Orange Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh orange juice

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • ¼ cup sugar (or maple syrup)

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp orange zest

  • 1 tsp grated ginger

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

Method

  1. Simmer all sauce ingredients except cornstarch slurry for 3–4 min.

  2. Stir in slurry; cook until glossy and thick.


Finish

  1. Toss crispy cauliflower in the hot orange sauce.

  2. Garnish with sesame seeds & green onions.

  3. Serve immediately with rice or noodles.
