🍊 Vegan Orange Tofu (Crispy, Sticky & Better Than Takeout)
Serves: 2–3 | Time: ~30 minutes
🌱 Ingredients
Tofu

400 g firm or extra-firm tofu, pressed & cubed

2 tbsp cornstarch

½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
Oil for frying or baking
Orange Sauce
-
½ cup fresh orange juice
-
1 tbsp orange zest
-
3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
-
2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1 tsp grated ginger
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

Chili flakes (optional)
👩🍳 Method

Crisp the tofu:
Toss tofu with cornstarch, salt & pepper. Pan-fry in hot oil until golden on all sides
(or bake at 200°C / 400°F for 25 minutes, flipping once). -
Make sauce:
In a pan, combine orange juice, zest, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, ginger & garlic. Simmer 3–4 minutes. -
Thicken:
Stir in cornstarch slurry. Cook until glossy and thick. -
Combine:
Add crispy tofu, toss to coat well. Cook 1–2 minutes.
