Keto Cheesy Chicken Fritters (Juicy, Golden & Low-Carb)

Keto cheesy chicken fritters are the kind of comfort food that feels indulgent while staying firmly low-carb. Tender bites of chicken are held together with melted cheese and egg, then pan-fried until the outside turns golden and lightly crisp. Inside, the fritters stay juicy and soft, with pockets of melted cheese that make every bite rich and satisfying.

What makes these fritters especially appealing is their versatility. They’re flavorful enough to eat on their own, yet mild enough to pair with a variety of keto-friendly sauces. Because they’re made with simple ingredients and no flour or breadcrumbs, they fit seamlessly into a ketogenic lifestyle while still feeling like a treat rather than “diet food.”

Ingredients (Makes about 10–12 fritters)

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, finely chopped or shredded
    (rotisserie chicken works well)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tablespoons almond flour

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or sour cream

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ¼ teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2–3 tablespoons olive oil or butter, for frying

Instructions

1. Make the Fritter Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the chopped chicken, shredded cheese, egg, almond flour, and mayonnaise (or sour cream). Add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined and the mixture holds together easily.

2. Heat the Pan

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil or butter. Allow it to heat until shimmering but not smoking. Proper heat ensures a crisp exterior without drying out the fritters.

3. Form and Cook the Fritters

Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture per fritter and gently flatten it in the pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through. Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if needed.

4. Drain and Rest

Transfer the cooked fritters to a paper-towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil. Let them rest for a minute—this helps them firm up slightly and keeps the cheese from spilling out.
