Ingredients
Main:
- 500 g (1 lb) boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 200 g (7 oz) cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Flavor:
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Add-ins:
- 6–8 slices cooked beef bacon (crumbled)
- 2–3 green onions (chopped)
Instructions (Stovetop Method)
1. Cook the chicken
- Heat a pan over medium heat.
- Add chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Remove and shred using two forks.
2. Make the creamy base
- In the same pan, add chicken broth and cream cheese.
- Stir continuously on low heat until smooth and creamy.
3. Add flavor
- Mix in ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Stir well to combine.
4. Combine everything
- Add shredded chicken back into the pan.
- Mix until the chicken is fully coated in the creamy sauce.
5. Add cheese and bacon
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Add crumbled beef bacon and mix well.
6. Finish and serve
- Garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve hot.
Slow Cooker Method
- Add chicken, cream cheese, chicken broth, and seasonings to the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
- Shred the chicken inside the cooker.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and cooked beef bacon before serving.
